    BULLDOG ANNOUNCEMENTS - HIGH SCHOOL – April 202021    

    WHATS NEW SECTION:

    Seniors: Caps/gowns have arrived. Come and visit Mrs. Griffin in the main office to get yours!!

    Students that are 16 and older are eligible to receive the COVID vaccine on April 26th.  The clinic will be held at our school and is open only to Centreville students that are 16 or older. Those interested must complete and turn in the waiver form by Friday of this week.  Forms are available in the main office. The second dose is scheduled for Monday, May 17th.  Both injections are necessary to be fully vaccinated.  

    NHS is hosting the last community wide blood drive of the school year on April 28th from 3-7 at Firm Foundations. Anyone 16 and older can donate. 16 year olds need a signed parental permission form in order to donate. You can reserve a donation time at https://donate.michigan.versiti.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/127540 or by signing up in the Main Office of the High School. 

    Job Fair at the Doyle Center: April 23rd from 2:00-6:00pm, the Doyle Center in Sturgis will be hosting a job fair. Students 17 & 18 years old should bring 2 forms of ID and your resume. For job descriptions visit: http://www.doylecenter.com/employment.php

    Today’s Event: V SB against Constantine – game at 4:30-canceled

                             JH TF at White Pigeon – bus 3:30 –match at 4:30-canceled

    Tomorrow’s Events: Golf SW10 Jamboree (Island Hills) - 4:00

                                     HS TF @ White Pigeon - bus and 1 van - 3:15 – event 4:30

    The High School boys track team finished 1st out of 6 teams to win the White Pigeon Invitational Friday night.  The top 6 places in each event scored to secure the win with the top 3 in each event earning medals.  There were seven 1st place finishes, five 2nd place, five 3rd place, two 4th place, two 5th place, and six 6th place finishes.  This was a great start to our season and we are excited to see some more successful performances in the meets ahead. We travel to WP on Wednesday and to the Comstock Invitational on Friday. 

    YEARBOOK NEWS:

    Seniors: Mrs. Mejeur is in need of your Senior picture and baby picture that you want featured in the yearbook! Get them to her ASAP! 

    High School yearbooks are now $55 to order. We only have about 40 more books available. Pre-order yours before we're out!

    If you participated in JV or Varsity Volleyball or cheerleading this past fall, the yearbook is in need of pictures! Send them to Mrs. Mejeur or Paige Walton. Please and thank you! 

    The JH and HS yearbooks are in need of pictures of student life/your work/athletics/school activities, etc. You can submit pictures by emailing Mrs. Mejeur at: gmejeur@cpschools.com, by tagging pictures on Instagram using @centreville_yearbook, or by downloading the Yearbook Snap App. Everyone deserves a spot in the yearbook- get us your pictures! 

    2019/2020 –If you purchased the Yearbook it is in the main office for pick-up.

    SCHOLARSHIPS:

    The Tamara Sue Hempel Memorial Scholarship is available.  Stop in the attendance office to pick up an application.  Deadline is April 30th, 2021

    PB&J Scholarship $500-$1000. Deadline May 31, 2021.  For students who have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically, but who still have the drive to succeed.  Visit bit.ly/pbjscholarship2021

    College Board is offering many scholarships and some of these scholarships do not require you to have taken the SAT.   Go to https://opportunity.collegeboard.org/?excmpid=vt-00248  You will need your College Board login information and new scholarships will be added through February so check the site often.  

    THE USUAL NEWS:

    Meals will be available for pick up on Wednesday’s in the Jr/Sr High School parking lot from 3-4pm. The meals include 5 days of breakfast and lunch. This will run every Wednesday.

    You can find free & reduced lunch applications on our website, under →our district → food service. There are applications in the main office as well if you would like to pick one up.

    Students looking for summer employment: Gibbys at Island Hills Golf Club is looking for kitchen help.  Must be available nights and weekends and have transportation to and from work.  Starting pay is $12 per hour. Contact Steve at 269-903-8558 if interested.
