BULLDOG ANNOUNCEMENTS - HIGH SCHOOL – May 11, 2021
WHATS NEW SECTION:
There will be a quiz bowl meeting today after school from 2:45-3:15 in Room 313. There will also be a meeting during Enrichment on Friday in room 103.
Seniors - you are formally invited to your Senior Tea, put on by the High School Student Council. Your tea will be held in the Commons Area during Enrichment on May 13. Come enjoy some treats, visit with your classmates and get your 8th grade letters.
The National Honor Society induction is Tuesday, May 11th at 7pm in the HS gym. NHS members, please report by 6:30pm for a quick run through. Masks and social distancing will be enforced for all attendees. See Mrs. Mejeur with any questions.
Summer employment for any student 16 or older: Hot-N-Now in Sturgis is hiring. Applications are in the main office if you would like to pick one up.
Attention All 8th-11th graders. It's time for class elections for the 2021-22 school year.
Each class elects 1 President, 1 Vice President, 1 Secretary, and 1 Treasurer and 3 Student Council Representatives.
To run for class officer for your class (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer), you must fill out a petition with ten signatures from your classmates. You may only sign one petition per office.
To run for Student Council Representative, you must also fill out a petition with ten signatures from your classmates. You may sign three petitions for SC Representative. They are due by Thursday, May 13 to your advisors or Ms. Arver.
Student Council reps/officers from this year - if you're interested in running for SC Officer, see Ms. Arver.
DE/EMC students: When your class is finished please return your books to the GOCC Bookstore, get a receipt, and return the receipt to Ms. Roe. Some of you may need to return the book to me but they will let you know if you need to do that. Make sure to turn your book promptly to avoid any fees.
Graduation announcements are in. If you placed an order, please pick them up in the main office.
There are still caps/gowns that need to be picked up, please stop by the main office to pick yours up.

The Bulldog football team is looking for student managers to help out for this upcoming season. There will be a meeting held on Wednesday, May 26th, during enrichment class. This will be for all students, male or female, who are interested in becoming managers. Hope to see you there!
High School yearbooks are now $55 to order. We only have about 29 more books available. Pre-order yours before we're out!
2019/2020 –If you purchased the Yearbook it is in the main office for pick-up.
All students are eligible for a Frontline Families Scholarship. Open to students who have a parent or guardian who have been on the frontline this year. Frontline workers are food delivery and supply chain workers, paramedics, EMT/EMS, firefighters, police, teachers, nurses, doctors, and those serving in our military. Three Rivers Elks scholarship is available in the counseling office. Deadline is July 14th.
College Board is offering many scholarships and some of these scholarships do not require you to have taken the SAT. Go to https://opportunity.collegeboard.org/?excmpid=vt-00248 You will need your College Board login information and new scholarships will be added through February so check the site often.
THE USUAL NEWS:
Meals will be available for pick up on Wednesday’s in the Jr/Sr High School parking lot from 3-4pm. The meals include 5 days of breakfast and lunch. This will run every Wednesday.
You can find free & reduced lunch applications on our website, under →our district → food service. There are applications in the main office as well if you would like to pick one up.
Students looking for summer employment: Gibbys at Island Hills Golf Club is looking for kitchen help. Must be available nights and weekends and have transportation to and from work. Starting pay is $12 per hour. Contact Steve at 269-903-8558 if interested.
